The Jumpstart Savings Program has new features for participants, but to benefit from the new features, current account owners must enroll in the new platform.*
To upgrade your Jumpstart account, you will be asked to enter the following information:
 - Account Owner Details—Address, Social Security Number (SSN), and Date of Birth.
- Beneficiary Details—Address, SSN, and Date of Birth.
- Optional: Account Successor Details—You may add a successor for added account security. You will need their Name, Address, SSN, and Date of Birth.
- Banking Information—Bank routing number and banking account number are needed to link your bank account to your Jumpstart account for seamless transactions.
- Set Up Multifactor Authentication—Ensures account security.
Ready to get started? Visit access.wvjumpstart.gov and click “Enroll Now”.
*If you do not choose to follow the enrollment steps listed above and upgrade your account, it will no longer be considered a “Jumpstart Savings Account” and will not be eligible for Jumpstart Savings tax advantages after December 31, 2025. Transfer the balance of your current Jumpstart Savings account from United Bank to your new account within 60 days to avoid any tax consequences.
Current participants who have Jumpstart United Bank accounts can close them in the following ways:
 - Come into a local United Bank branch with your photo ID and close out the account in person.
- Email Gabriel.McKenzie@bankwithunited.com or Samuel.Estel@bankwithunited.com to close the account and the proceeds will be mailed to the address on file.
- If you have other United Bank accounts, you may transfer the funds from your Jumpstart account to your other United Bank account.
If any other special requests are needed, please reach out to United Bank at (800) 327-9862.
